This image was made by gluing tissue paper to a board, leaving lots of wrinkles in the paper. After the glue dried the entire board was covered with encaustic. Then, photos of cutout vases were added and another layer of glue. Next music was scanned and printed onto rice paper and added on top - again covered with encaustic. Finally areas were painted with metallic oil
sticks to add a touch of color and darken the outside edges
Anyone have any Polaroid transfers? Anyone remember Polaroid transfers? This image is an old Polaroid transfer -- photo of an old pair of boots, printed onto Polaroid 669 film. Then the Polaroid was boiled off it's backing, floated in water, caught onto a piece of heavy mat board. Next, it was covered with encaustic, etched and painted with oil sticks... such a tactile fun project.
