Please join me in learning about and experimenting with melting bee's wax and 'sticking' it on photos (Encaustic). Don't worry about screwing it up as mistakes are often our best work. Do be careful of burning yourself! Wax heated to 180 to 220 degrees is ideal. And plenty to do after the wax is on, add texture, scratch and etch (dental tools work great) and color with more wax or oil stick. If you are doing encaustic, or any other interesting artwork, please share images and techniques.
Here are two panels, each 10" X 10" showing the scale of the Bay Bridge entering San Francisco. Encaustic, it should be said can and should be touched... at least I encourage you to touch mine -- after they cool and dry that is.
